Welcome to Amicis, chef Alexandre Baumard’s gastronomic restaurant located in the heart of the iconic Grands Hommes quarter in the famous Golden Triangle.
Amicis is first and foremost a happening place, spread over 2 floors and open from Monday to Friday.
In this new “gastronomic living space”, we like to honour the wealth of the land, sea and nature on our menu every day.
Each of our dishes pays tribute to a cuisine resolutely focused on creative, aesthetic seafood and a subtle combination of treasures of the terroir, with the determination to enhance the produce from local farmers and breeders.
“We combine new flavours and create new taste balances to offer unique and delicate dishes, enhancing textures, sauces and cooking techniques. Our aim is to share moments of pleasure and discovery through wines from near and far, and to ensure that Amicis is a source of unforgettable emotions and memories.” Alexandre Baumard
Upstairs, La Table AMICIS, a cozier and more private gastronomic restaurant, offers an open view of the kitchen, with a unique menu of 7 courses, in a hushed, intimate and cozy atmosphere.
“The idea is to show that we are all working together around a truly happening place.”
After 10 years working with the de Boüard family, as Chef at Logis de la Cadène in Saint-Émilion and at Le Gabriel in Bordeaux, Alexandre Baumard decided to take on new personal projects by opening his own restaurant. With the soul of an entrepreneur as well as that of a chef, a desire to pass on to his daughter, and the energy of a fighter, it was in this spirit that the Chef turned the page and became the owner of his new restaurant Amicis.
With 20 years’ experience under his belt, the time had come for the chef, originally from Anjou, to start a new chapter in his career as chef-owner. He has twice been awarded a Michelin star, at Logis de la Cadène in Saint-Émilion in 2017, then at the Observatoire du Gabriel in Bordeaux in 2021, two gastronomic restaurants owned by Château Angelus, which he left last summer.
Named a “Grand de Demain” by Gault & Millau in 2021, a pronounced taste for gastronomy, technical skills and creativity are just some of the ingredients needed to launch a new gastronomic adventure in Bordeaux.
